This group show is a celebration of the mahi of local Maori artists making Maori art.

The name literally refers to young spiders leaving the web and metaphorically refers to the way newer artists are nurtured in their developing art practice by those who are more experienced. In this way, it’s a branching dome of support like a spider’s web. This show, therefore, includes the mahi of both new and more experienced artists.

Artists include: Heather Jonson, Ihakara Smith, Geo Thompson-Skipworth, Jess Stevens, Joe Clarke, Maungarongo TeKawa, Redgie Walker-Small, Selena Tapae, Tia Tamara, Tipene Douglas, Toni Neale and Tui Martin.
